This New Year, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) is challenging people across the county to make a New Year’s resolution that will give something back to the community.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance doctors have successfully treated a patient following cardiac arrest using pre-hospital ice cold intravenous fluids.
Around £6,000 was raised at this charity event with going cash going to Isle of Wight's the Order of St John, supporting recruitment and training needs of local St John Ambulance volunteers, as well as replacing the charity’s defibrillators.
For the first six months of 2019, the life-saving Charity was tasked to 1,075 incidents, compared to 662 missions for the same period in the previous year.
If you're having clear out, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance will come and collect your unwanted clothes and textiles (not by helicopter though)
During the past twelve month, medics from 22 Field Hospital in Aldershot have been spending time with the crew of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance gaining valuable experience of working on board an Air Ambulance, before their deployment to Afghanistan in the near future.
