Explore the echoes of Sandown’s past with Boojum and Snark’s Urban Heritage Walk (update)

Last updated:

Boojum and Snark are proud to announce their involvement with Sandown Heritage Urban Walks.

Book your place on either a 10am or 2pm walk on Saturday 24th June and join them to celebrate Sandown’s unique culture and heritage.

Hear stories describing how a headstrong flame-haired poet scaled the chalky cliffs of Culver and how a radical journalist, when not defending liberty, cultivated roses and danced by the sea.

Your guide
Your guide will be poet King Stammers (aka Tim Martin) in the character of John Lowe (you may remember him from the Foible&Folly project, just don’t mention rabbits and pigeons).

The walk lasts around an hour. After the walk, you’ll be asked to fill in a feedback form to help future projects.

Free event but book in advance
This is a FREE event, but organisers ask you reserve your place via Eventbrite so they can keep track of numbers.

This walk has been created by Arron Swaffer and Hollie Richards. Thank you Isle of Wight AONB.

Biosphere in the Bays
This is just one trail, but there are several others. Biosphere in the Bays is a series of trails exploring our relationship with the urban and rural landscapes around us.

Each trail will be an immersive experience promoting a rediscovery of the different elements that go to make up the Bay.

More to follow about these walks in the coming days.

Meet by the Bandstand restaurant/cafe.
