Thanks to Paul Hargreaves for sending VentnorBlog through this photo of the Cowes floating bridge sign that he tells us that he snapped yesterday.
Not that you’d noticed by the very subtle application of bright yellow tape on top of the blue sign – but the prices look like they’ve increased.
Cars £2.00; Motorbike £1.20; Lorries £2.70 and £6.80 – the sign says. The Isle of Wight council’s Web site has yet to catch up with the price changes. They’re still displaying £1.80, £1.10; £2.50 and £6.10.
At the beginning of the year there was a considerable objection to the raising of cost of using the floating bridge. The Isle of Wight council listened to concerns at charging for foot passengers, dropping that part of the plan.
The Cowes Floating Bridge has just come out of repair was recently undergoing repair.
Update 10:43 Thanks to Alan Marsh for letting us know that the floating bridge is (as of today) still out of action. The good news is that he says that the paint looks like it’s arrived today.
