The Cowes Floating Bridge is still out of action this morning (Monday).
On Sunday the Isle of Wight council announced that due to an hydraulic oil leak on the south west ram of the floating bridge, it was taken out of service.
It remains out of service and is due for inspection this morning. A launch service for foot passengers and cyclists is now in operation.
Evening suspension
In addition, assuming the bridge is back in action later today, on Monday and Tuesday evenings the bridge will be out of service whilst the prow cables are replaced.
The work is scheduled to take place from 6pm to 11pm on both today and tomorrow. The replacement foot passenger launch will be in operation during these times.
The council apologies for any inconvenience.
