As reported last week a meeting had been called by Cllr Jonathan Bacon to discuss the future of the privately-owned former Frank James Hospital.
The meeting held on Wednesday evening was attended by council cabinet members with responsibility for issues relating to the former Frank James Hospital site, as well as local members and key council officers.
Complex ownership issues
A spokesperson for the Isle of Wight council tell us,
“It was concluded that due to the site being owned by a large number of legal entities, further information was required about the impact of the complex ownership issues that arise as a result before any of the options could be properly considered.
“Officers will investigate these issues and brief members at a further meeting (date to be agreed).”
In the meantime, the council say it will continue to work with the owners of the site, “as it has been doing so to date”.
