Friday history talk: Newport, Godshill & St. Lawrence Railway

Railway enthusiast, Roger Silsbury, will be giving a talk in St Lawrence on Friday (19th October) later this week which should be of great interest to anyone into Isle of Wight railways.

The talk tells the fascinating story of the Railway which once served the village of St Lawrence. It was the last line on the Isle of Wight to be built, but the first to close, with a life of only 55 years.

If you have any photographs, relics or memories of the line, why not take them along to share with the audience.

Seating in the hall is limited to 62 places so in order to avoid disappointment, we request that individuals interested in attending this event phone or e-mail (see below) to reserve a place for 19th October.

On the night, names will be checked against our list and you will be able to pay your admission charge of £2 at the door.
