It’s been open for a couple of months now and business is going well for local Jeweller, Sophie Honeybourne.
Back in March, Sophie and her partner, Raff took over the Pie in the Sky premises in Church Street and have worked extremely hard to renovate and fit out the gorgeous little space, and they’ve got it looking brilliant.
The window display brings sophistication to Ventnor and the wooden shutters used when the shop is closed make it neat and tidy.
You might recognise the style of the signage outside, which was created by another local artist, Tania Dixcey. I think it really sums up the feeling of Sophie’s jewellery, delicate and innocent.
If you haven’t been in yet, Sophie’s work is exquisite, and you really should go and take a look.
She has a passion for multiples found within nature, seasonal colours and organic shapes and her jewellery certainly reflects this.
Graduating from The Royal College of Art in July 2003, Sophie sells her work through many galleries as well as at the new shop/workshop in Ventnor. She has also exhibited many times over the years, in London, Manchester, Belfast, Newark, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Nottingham.
Short listed for the Mappin and Webb Female Icon Exhibition in 2003, Sophie mainly uses sterling silver, fine silver, adding detail using seed pearls and 18ct gold. Her most recent collections feature hot enamels in seasonal colours which look stunning.
Sophie is in the workshop Monday to Wednesday (11am-5pm) and the shop is also open on Saturdays. You can call the shop on 854 618.
