THE COMMITTEE set up to investigate how work on the Undercliff Drive project at Ventnor was illegally procured will tomorrow (Thursday 29) receive the final report into the matter.
The report by solicitors Wragge and Co will set out how procurement rules came to be breached following a landslip at the Undercliff in April 2001. The document also recommends a number of steps the council should take to prevent similar poor practice in the future.
The Wragge and Co report follows a nine-month investigation. During the process, seven officers were suspended. Six of these cases have been dealt with, the latest of which, resulted in a disciplinary hearing since which the officer concerned has recently returned to work in a different role.
