Councillors from Shanklin to Ryde have been asked to support the Keep Island Line Franchise Campaign. Residents are reminded of the public meeting being held from 7.30pm on Tuesday 11th August at Shanklin Theatre.
The former cinema that was the focus of a campaign to save it two years ago, is now the subject of a planning application to demolish it and build housing in its place.

Shanklin Sandown Rowing Club sponsored this year by Advanced Automotive entered 10 crews in the two day Newport Regatta which was rowed in three boat races over a 1550 metre course on the Medina river on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July.
This event taking place on Saturday sounds like it'll be a great fun way to raise money for the Rotary - who in turn help many charities across the Isle of Wight.
