Deborah RoseYou know that “I could have seen her at”¦but now sheʼs a big star” moment? This is that moment. Once you have seen Deborah Rose you have seen the future, so catch her at Isle of Arts while you can.

Deborah will be performing a special event that will capture the imaginations of music and poetry lovers alike, to be held at East Dene, the former home of poet Algernon Swinburne, at 3pm in Bonchurch on Sunday 22 April.

Poetry readings alongside music
Alongside Deborahʼs music there will be readings from works by past authors with Island links, including Tennyson and Swinburne, plus contemporary verse by Island poets, with contributions from Jeni Law from East Cowes and from Edmund Matyjaszek from Ryde.

Deborahʼs timeless voice and poignant song writing are spiced with the mystic energy gained from her Welsh roots and inspiration from some of the world’s most gifted poetic minds.

Her debut album Song Be My Soul will feature the works of Shakespeare, Tennyson, and Christina Rossetti alongside other self-penned classics and collaborations with composer Martin Riley.

To be released this year, the album also features Dan Cassidy, the brother of late singer, Eva Cassidy, playing violin.

“One of the finest voices I’ve heard”
Deborah recently accompanied folk legend Judy Collins on the UK leg of her world tour and opened the Big Top stage at the Isle of Wight festival.

Judy Collins said she had “one of the finest voices I’ve heard”.
