No sooner had we written about Isle of Wight band Wet Leg appearing on The Jonathan Ross Show this weekend, and announced more great news.
Dynamic duo, Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, have been nominated in five Grammy Award categories up against some stiff competition.
Five nominations
The nominations are for:
- Best alternative performance for Chaise Longue
- Best alternative album
- Best new act
- Best remixed recording, Soulwax remix of Too Late Now
- Best engineered album (non classical)
Grammys are presented by the Recording Academy in recognition of ‘outstanding achievement in the music industry’.
Others pivotal to Wet Leg’s success
There are several others Islanders who have also been pivotal to the success of the Wet Leg’s music.
Michael Champion, from CHAMPS fame was heavily involved with the creation of the band’s debut album, Wet Leg, as was Jon McMullen who produced the album along with Dan Carey and Joshua Mobaraki (who is also from the Island and plays with the band on tour).
Other Islanders include Henry Holmes (drums) and Ellis Durand (bass) who have been touring with the band relentlessly since last summer.
