The Isle of Wight College is pleased to announce commendable academic results for the recent GCSE re-sits which took place in November, reflecting the dedication and hard work of its diverse student body.
For the re-sits, the college were aiming to increase previous exam results from a grade 3 to a 4 or higher, giving the students the foundation in English and maths that they need to progress into their chosen career paths. Re-sit opportunities were offered to existing students and school leavers.
Highlights
Among the successful candidates is Kelsie-Leigh Dickinson, a promising childcare student, who has successfully passed her exams and is now set to progress towards a rewarding career in teaching.
Additionally, Emma Thacker and Chloe Woolcock, both childcare students obtained excellent results as they pursue their aspirations to become social workers.
In the Public Services department, Callum Chapman, an ambitious student, has successfully passed his GCSEs and is set to embark on a new chapter by joining the army after completing his course.
A student who notably excelled in his re-sit was Isle of Wight College staff member, Tim Martin, who achieved a grade 7 in English.

Ros Parker, OBE expressed immense pride in the students’ achievements, stating,
