Isle of Wight Festival: Battle of the Bands

It’sthat time of year again! Next Tuesday sees the first heat of the yearly Battle of the Bands at Medina Theatre.

Isle of Wight Festival: Battle of the BandsOrganised by Year 12 and 13 students from the High School, under the watchful artistic eye of teacher Karen Sunderland, bands will be competing for the opportunity to play on the main stage at this year’s Festival provided by IOW Festival organisers Solo.

The next top three bands will be given the chance to perform on the Platform One stage over the weekend – the title of which was won by Ventnor band Kosmik Debris last year.

To enter the competition bands had to all be in full time education up to the age of 19. In the heat, there are twelve bands performing, with six going through to the final on the 7th of May.

The event opens at 6pm for a 6.30pm start at Medina Theatre, and tickets are £3 either from the Box Office or on the door.
