The 2013 Isle of Wight Film Festival competition is closing its entries on the 15th June, and invites Islanders to compete for the prestigious Best Isle of Wight Film award.

The competition opened in 15th January and the final films will be announced on 15th July.

The festival takes place on the 14-17th August in Ventnor and prizes range from handmade awards to corporate gifts.

Bruce Webb, the festival director said,

“This is the seventh year we’ve held the Best Isle of Wight Film competition, as time goes on the standard rises and the subject matter often surprises us.

Quirky, dark and sometimes very moving films come through the door and all reflect the special quality of the Island and those people who come from it.”

To qualify for the Best Isle of Wight Prize you have to have been born on the Isle of Wight, live on the Isle of Wight or have shot your film on the Isle of Wight.
