On Sunday night Isle of Wight police officers responded to reports of a man spraying graffiti on vehicles in Ryde.
A man in his 40s was subsequently arrested on suspicion of criminal damage in connection with this, as well as a recent series of graffiti incidents on the Isle of Wight.
Police say he was also arrested for burglary, possession of a knife and resisting arrest.
