Isle of Wight Radio have announced that they have been named the ‘Official Radio Station for entertainment and stage events’ at Cowes Week this year.
The station have confirmed that they will be working with Cowes Yacht Haven, providing daily live coverage of off-water events direct to listeners of Isle of Wight Radio on 102/107fm.
Along with some help from the brilliant sound guys at Widget Audio, they’ll be joined by national stage and screen company Phonix and taking care of all the live, evening entertainment for the thousands of visitors, locals and competitors who visit Cowes during the international event.
They had to beat off stiff competition (oo er missus) to gain the title of Official Radio Station and Paul Topping, Isle of Wight Radio’s Programme Controller and Breakfast Show Presenter had this to say.
“Cowes Week is one of the largest events to be held on the Isle of Wight and the UK. We are very proud that we have been chosen to be the yacht haven’s official radio station during this international event. It is a major coup for the station and the team at Isle of Wight Radio.”
Steve Cole, Managing Director at Cowes Yacht Haven said: “Isle of Wight Radio was the natural choice for our radio partner for this year’s event. The team at the station truly understand the event, the needs of our thousands of visitors and have the experience and knowledge to work with our other local and national suppliers to deliver a quality product to a world wide audience.’
