Isle of Wight’s Stoats Farm seeks permission to sell alcohol on-site

A popular Isle of Wight camping and caravan park is looking to sell alcohol at its shop.

The owners of Stoats Farm, on Weston Lane, in Totland are applying to the Isle of Wight council for an alcohol licence.

It means they can then sell alcohol at its shop to drink on the campsite or take it away with them.

If successful, the licence would mean it can sell alcohol from 7am to 10pm, seven days a week, should they wish to.

Precautions
To protect the public, the farm says all alcohol sales would require ID for proof of age and it would be placed on higher shelves and away from items sold to children.

To prevent public nuisance, the farm says it would refuse alcohol sales to anyone deemed to be too drunk or known street drinkers and the existing campsite rules would still be in place to ensure noise is kept to a minimum.

It is hoped the licence can come into effect from 1st November 2023.

View the application
You can view the licensing application, 23/01531/LAPNEW, on the Isle of Wight Council’s planning register.

The public consultation runs until 9th November 2023.
