A feature about the ten articulated trucks of donations from Isle of Wight residents made it onto BBC South Today on Thursday evening.
Since the war in Ukraine broke out, MAD-Aid, the Isle of Wight-based charity that runs a medical aid delivery programme to Moldova, have mobilised support and been responsible for organising the huge amount of aid to Moldova, to support Ukrainians displaced by the war.
The three-minute segment on South Today showed students from the Isle of Wight Military Prep College loading donations from Islanders onto a truck and also featured an interview with Victoria Dunford, the charity’s founder (pictured below).
Overwhelming support for the campaign
Volunteer Lee Stoker also speaks to camera about the 30 drop off points, 60+ volunteer drivers and the overwhelming support for the campaign.
IW donations mean so much
The segment also features a video call from Victoria after she recently arrived in Moldova, wanting Islanders to know how much of a difference their donations have made to the Ukrainian people in Moldova, and helped Moldovans to be able to look after the displaced Ukrainians.
If you missed it, you can watch the segment gain (just before 20 mins in) via the BBC iPlayer.
