Knocking around the Festival site, we quickly caught up with John Giddings, the Isle of Wight Festival promoter yesterday afternoon.
We asked him about how he felt about the rain as it started to fall on the Thursday festival go-ers – especially after after the contract with the Isle of Wight council had been renegotiated and agreed by the IWC.
Interestingly, he tell us that any reparation of Seaclose Park would be paid for out of the budget for the Festival, as you can’t get insurance to cover that kind of damage.
“A huge gamble”
He described putting the Festival on as “a huge gamble, that you hope is successful.”

The last little bit was about the food that is provided to the performing artists and those making the setup run smoothly.
