Just over a week ago we were lucky enough to spend the afternoon in the grounds of Woodvale House in Seaview.

Lucie Whitehouse, Author: The Bed I Made (podcast)The former home of onthe Isle of Wight of Admiral Lord Calthorpe (and current home of Mr and Mrs Burman) was playing host to a Literary Gala.

Funds were being raised for SSFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association) and those who attended were treated to an afternoon of interesting talks by authors from around the country.

During the afternoon we were lucky enough to spend some time with young author, Lucie Whitehouse.

Lucie’s latest novel, The Bed I Made, is largely set on the Island (over in Yarmouth) having just finished the book ourselves, we were keen to explore why Lucie set the psychological thriller on the Island.

A thoroughly charming person, Lucie also spoke about her background in publishing, her inspiration for writing and let us in on her latest novel which is due to be finished shortly.
