Lucky Elephant fans will very pleased to hear that the long awaited debut album from the fabulous four has been released today.
It’s been a long time coming, but rest assured, it was worth the wait.
Star Sign Trampoline contains some of the more well known tracks that the band has been playing to adoring fans over the last couple of years, such as the excellent Rev. Tilsley, The Pier and Lucky Elephant.
But perhaps in a change to their usual style, the new album sees the arrival of some more pensive or introspective numbers such as The Red Ties vs The Bees and Burn Down The Acres.
We’ve been listening to the new album for the last month or so and it continues to grow on us more and more.
The new tracks show another side to the band not previously seen and this album is sure to increase their fan base ten-fold.
Let’s hope it gets some good airplay on the radio stations.
Chinwag
We caught up with Sam and Manu from the band at the Isle of Wight Festival back in June.
They’d just performed a great set on the Acoustic Stage and were still buzzing from the experience.
We had a good old chinwag finding out how they got together, what inspires them, how the create the material and what plans they have for the future .. oh and we go off piste to put the world to rites (natch).
Get yourself a cup of tea, put your feet up and check out the interview. The lads were just as lovely in person as we thought they’d be and we can’t wait to see them play again at Bestival in September. [audio:http://otw-audio.s3.amazonaws.com/lucky-elephant-interview.mp3]
Thanks also to Island photographer, Julian Winslow for joining us to take the shots.
