Man attacked with penknife in Sandown

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Lake near Sandown in the early hours of the morning (Wednesday, November 6).

Sometime between 1.30am – 2.00am, the victim, a man in his 20s, was walking home along Sandown Road when he was approached by another man as he came to the junction of Heath Road.

The man demanded to use the victim’s phone and when he refused the man attacked him with a small pen knife causing cuts to hands and face.

Description of suspect
The suspect is described as a white man, short hair that was a little spiky and dark in colour. Around 5ft 10ins tall, slim build wearing a plain round neck jumper.
