A couple of weeks ago, VB attended the hastily arranged leaving party for residential care users who attend The Medina Centre.
During the party we spoke Rachel, Heidi and Veronica.
Veronica, a user of the centre for many years, talked about how much she enjoyed spending time at the Medina Centre, where she is surrounded by friends in a caring atmosphere.
She went on to say how shocked she was at hearing the news that she’d no longer at not be able to socialise with friends at Medina Centre, where she enjoyed a wide variety of activities.
Veronica’s Mother also expressed her concerns of the impact on the family and was at odds to envisage how the residential homes would be able to provide the diversity of activities currently enjoyed by users of the day centre.
