Thursday 14 May marks the 60th anniversary of the opening of the Medway Queen Club at Island Harbour – a milestone for anyone with memories of the old paddle steamers and the social life that grew up around them.
To mark the occasion, author Richard Halton will attend a book signing at East Cowes Heritage Centre, in Clarence Road, between 11am and 1pm.

Organisers are encouraging as many people as possible to come along, chat, and share their recollections of the paddle steamers and the clubs connected to them.
