Meet A Rocket Man (Podcast)

Last year we had the great pleasure of meeting one of the rocketmen involved with the secret rocket testing programme in the 1950s and 60s.

Meet A Rocket ManAs part of the Star Party organised by Vectis Astronomical Society, we joined a fascinating tour of the old battery and afterwards caught up with the original rocketman, Jim Scragg, to find out more (listen to podcast below).

Jim gave us a great insight into how things worked and how life in that world has changed since.

As part of National Science Week, the event is taking place again this year on 15th March at The Needles New Battery (West High Down, Alum Bay).

If you missed the chance to meet Jim last year, why not go along on the 15th to find out what it was like to work there and ask him your questions.

Here’s what he had to say to VentnorBlog last year
