Outstanding A-Level results for pupils at Ryde School

Ryde School pupils have once again enjoyed another outstanding year of A level results, with grades even higher than the excellent results of 2013.

The pupils achieved the following statistics: 51% of entries were A* or A grades; 75% of entries were A* to B grades; 91% of exams were C grades or above. When taking into account results from the International Baccalaureat, 54% of entries were awarded A*/A.

Mark Waldron, Headmaster of Ryde School said,

“We are delighted with these results, our pupils have worked very hard and have exceeded their targets yet again. We were already celebrating record results at IB and now we have these excellent A level results too.

“With 10% of the Upper Sixth accepted to Oxbridge and so many going on to other great universities and courses, we are justifiably proud of our pupils, their ambition and hard work.”

Ryde School top performers include …
Benjamin Jarman from Freshwater, who achieved an outstanding six A* grades alongside three top grades in Cambridge University’s STEP Maths papers; he will be going to Trinity College, Cambridge to study Mathematics.

Joe Buckwell, Ventnor, achieved three A* grades and will be reading Physics at Oxford.

Emma Gillett of Totland Bay (two A*s and two As), Law at Oxford.

Ieuan Perkins, Chillerton, (two A*s and an A), English at Oxford.

Jack Philipsborn from Bembridge (one A* and two As), Land Economy at Cambridge.

Will Duxson, Alex Fontana, Victor Nip and Imogen Tew all achieved at least two A* grades and an A grade.

Sarah Flanagan, Eleanor Ness, Isabella Parkes, Robbie Phillips, Mark Scaife, Robert Selby, Ella Symons, Michelle Tin and Milton Yue all achieved the equivalent of three A grades or better.
