Rumours were circulating that Whippingham Ward at St Mary's hospital had been closed due to an outbreak on the ward of Covid-19, so News OnTheWight got the official word from the NHS Trust
The Director of Nursing at St Mary's said, "We are allowing more visitors to our hospital because we know how important it is for patients to feel connected to their friends, relatives and loved ones"
The council say there are around 2,655 people over the age of 65 living with dementia on the Isle of Wight and it's thought this will increase to 3,920 by 2030
