Police Appeal After Criminal DamagePolice are continuing to investigate criminal damage to cars in Bembridge on the Isle of Wight.

Officers are making enquiries into at least 12 reports of wing mirrors being vandalised on vehicle parked outside people’s homes in Steyne Road, Foreland Road and the High Street.

All the damage is believed to have taken place sometime between 7pm on Wednesday, November 3 and 7am on Thursday, November 4, 2010.

Suspects arrested
A 22-year-old man from the Bournemouth area of Dorset and a 26-year-old man were both arrested on November 4, 2010 on suspicion of criminal damage.

They were questioned at Newport Police Station and bailed until December 3, 2010 pending further enquiries.

PC Simon O’Dea of the Isle of Wight’s Targeted Patrol teams (TPT) said: “Several lines of enquiry have been pursued already this month and we are grateful to the community for their assistance so far. I remain eager to hear from any residents or visitors who may have seen or heard anyone acting suspiciously around parked cars in Bembridge on the night of November 3rd.”
