There was a power loss in Ventnor and Whitwell this morning and today.
At 2:45am the power was lost to around 1,000 homes in Ventnor due to a problem with high voltage underground cable in the area.
To reconnect the power, engineers had to re-route the power, leading to the power being switched off between 5:10 – 6:45 in Whitwell, affecting 300 homes there losing their power too.
In repairing the electricity supply to full working order, around 100 homes remained with their electricity off until 13:50 this afternoon.
Southern Electricity said that they wished to apologise for any inconvenience.
