Primary school taken on a magical Polar Express day out

On 20th December the whole of Lanesend Primary School made a trip to Havenstreet Steam Railway on the school’s version of the ‘Polar Express’.

Charli Reading from the school explains,

“Our Autumn Term topic was ‘Pole to Pole’ where we had been learning about all things polar.

“Over 400 children, dressed in their pyjamas and with their favourite teddy, were given a special ‘BELIEVE’ ticket and we made our way to the ‘Santa Special’ steam train with an extra special helping of snow.”

A magical train ride
Charli went on to add,

“The children had a magical train ride, culminating in a special meet with Father Christmas himself where they received a gift.

“This was followed by a hot chocolate and a sweet treat before making our way back to school.”

“The Havenstreet staff were amazing, they deserve a huge thank you, as do Kardan Travel for the logistics of ferrying us back and forth in three groups!”
