On Sunday 15th December 2024, the Quay Folk Club will feature Vicki Swan and Jonny Dyer as guests.
Effortlessly blending traditional material with contemporary sounds Vicki and Jonny (pictured) are two of the most versatile musicians on the folk circuit today.
Talented multi-instrumentalists
Both are talented multi-instrumentalists with an enviable reputation for creating sounds that are simultaneously new and progressive and yet entirely sympathetic to the folk tradition.
Vicki studied at the Royal College of Music on the double bass. She now also plays various types of bagpipes, flute, recorder, piano and nyckelharpa. Jonny is an award winning guitarist who also plays accordion, harpsichord, cow bell and bass.
At The Quay Folk Club you can expect to hear a bit of Christmas, a bit of music hall, some stories and some folk. All of this will be delivered with sparkling humour, lots of smiles and skilful musicianship.
Where and when
Quay Folk Club takes place on Sunday 15th December 2024 from 7pm at Quay Arts Centre, Newport.
Entry to the Folk Club is free, although donations are collected, and you are encouraged to wear a Christmas jumper and / or something sparkly for the evening.
