Family Day at Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week will have an exciting new addition this year – an outdoor cinema screening at Northwood House, West Cowes.

The screening, courtesy of the Extraordinary Travelling Film Show, will take place on Sunday 3rd August, and will be a wonderful way for everyone to relax after a day of sailing or a busy Family Day ashore.

You choose
The film will be chosen by a public vote with voting taking place online here.

The choices include:

  • Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl
  • Finding Nemo
  • The Goonies
  • Splash

Voting closes on 7th July
Voting begins on Friday 27th June, and the count will take place on Monday July 7th. Vote for Captain Jack, Marlin, Mikey or Madison and see the winning choice on the big screen under the stars on Sunday 3rd August.

Northwood House, a 5-minute walk from Cowes Parade, is a beautiful, historic house set in lovely grounds. Cinema-goers will also get to see some of the ornate interior, including the rotunda.

Bring a picnic
The film will be shown on the private lawn of the house and film goers are encouraged to bring a picnic mat or chair to relax in the wonderful surroundings and experience a truly entertaining film under the stars.

There will be delicious food, alcoholic beverages and soft drinks available as well as blankets, picnic mats and ‘wedge’ seats for sale to keep you comfortable through any high seas adventure!

The screening during Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week is part of a summer-long schedule that the Extraordinary Travelling Film Show are bringing to the Island.
