Riverside Meeting Postponed, But EGM Requested

The Stakeholders meeting arranged by the trustees of the Riverside Centre charity for tomorrow (Wednesday) has been postponed.

The meeting, which would have allowed members of the public to get a more clear understanding of what’s happening, was called after the Isle of Wight council sent the Riverside a bill of up to £200,000 for the Centre.

The Riverside are being very gracious, putting it down to ‘having taken legal advice’. VB understands that it’s a lot more in-depth than that.

VB digging into it
Rest assured, we’re digging into it.

The latest twist is that an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) has been called by the Members and Stakeholders at Riverside, asking how the accounts for the Centre could have been signed-off by auditors if what the council says – that a large amount of money is owing to IWC – were true.

Keep your eye on VB for the latest – looks like this story is becoming quite substantial.
