Quay Lane will be closed from Thursday 5 June until Friday 25 July 2014 between High Street and a point 735 metres to the East of the junction with High Street. From 1200hrs on Friday 18 July 2014 for the foreseeable future the following roads / path will be closed to vehicular traffic: Cliff Road / Cliff Path will be closed from a point 55 metres to the northwest of the junction with Ranalagh Road to point 185 metres to the south west of the junction with Cliff Gardens (the southern boundary of number 6). Ranalagh Road will also be closed from Cliff Road to a point 10 metres to the west of Cliff Road. During the period of closure there is no alternative route for vehicles. A3020 Medina Way (northern carriageway). A temporary 40 mph speed restriction has been introduced on the northbound carriageway of A3020 Medina Way. The restriction will be in operation from a point 50 metres to the north (St Marys Roundabout side) of the junction with the Fairlee Link Road (adjacent to the south eastern end of Medina Bridge) to a (to the start of the existing 40 mph speed restriction near St Marys Roundabout). The 40 mph speed limit will be in operation, from 12pm (noon) on Friday 18 July until at least Friday 8 August 2014 or until safety works have been completed, whichever is the sooner and is required in the interests of road safety until barriers have been replaced. Sandown Children’s Carnival Procession. Various roads will be closed in Sandown for the children’s carnival procession on Friday 25 July 2014. ROUTE: Culver Parade, High Street, Pier Street, and Esplanade (to outside Sandown Pier). The above roads will each be closed for a short period to allow the carnival procession to pass through. The procession is due to form up in Sandham Gardens at 1.45pm and leave at 2.30pm following the above route. The procession should arrive outside Sandown Pier at about 3pm. ST LAWRENCE:
A3055 Undercliff Drive will remain closed from St Catherine’s Road to Seven Sisters Road (Western Junction), between Barrington Lodge, near to the western junction with Seven Sisters Road and Mirables which is located about a mile towards Niton. Following significant ground movement in the area in early February 2014, Undercliff Drive has been physically closed between Mirables (in the west) and a point 560 metres to the West of Seven Sisters Road (in the east) for safety reasons. There is now no access for vehicles or pedestrians. The Isle of Wight Council, working with partner agencies including Island Roads and with support from the army, led an operation in February to help residents of nine properties in Undercliff Drive (in an area known as ‘Woodlands’) remove possessions from their homes after they were advised to leave for safety reasons. A formal road and footpath closure will be in operation from Saturday 15 February for the foreseeable future. Island Roads’ work in the road has been suspended and the road will remain closed until the ground has stabilised and further monitoring can be carried out to determine its future. Bath Road. A one way restriction will be in operation from La Falaise car Park to Belgrave Road between 9am on Tuesday 29 October 2013 until approx. late in 2013. The restriction is due to the reduction in road for the protection to masonry at retaining wall R1074 above a property called Seacourt.
