Ryde’s uniform exchange: Donate old school uniforms and Christmas jumpers this November

Aspire Ryde in conjunction with Ryde Town Council will be hosting a uniform ‘swap shop’ at the Aspire Ryde Community Hub, High Street on Thursday 2nd November and runs until Saturday 4th November from 10am – 4pm.

Prior to the event, they are appealing for unwanted school uniform items. This includes school sweatshirts, trousers, skirts, polo shirts, shirts, shoes, ties, blazers, school bags, sports kit and trainers, but does not include underwear or socks.

Where to drop off
Items can be dropped at the A.R.C.H shop located on Ryde High Street (opposite the new Poundland store). In addition, this time, Christmas jumpers will also be swapped and can be any size and for any age; adult sizes included.

People looking to swap on the day, can come with any donations they may have and hopefully find something suitable to take away.

Pearce: A great way of recycling uniforms
Organiser, Alison Pearce, added,

“In August, we had people doing swaps for bigger sizes of uniform for their children as well as some donating as their child had finished at the school. It was a great way of recycling uniform often which were barely worn! We’ve got the added extra of swapping Christmas jumpers ready for Christmas jumper day in December. Please bring down last year’s jumper and exchange it ready for this year’s event.”

For more details on this event, you can call the Community Hub directly on (01983) 597 905.
