Sandown Illuminated Carnival is a brilliant way to round off the summer holidays!
Featuring dozens of brightly-lit floats and vehicles plus hundreds of costumes, this much-loved procession weaves its way around Sandown to the delight of thousands of spectators.
Road closures
Culver Parade will be closed from Avenue Road to Fort Street) between 5pm and 11.30pm and Esplanade/Avenue Slipway will be closed from Esplanade Road to Avenue Road between 6pm and 11.30pm on Wednesday 29 August 2012 to allow Sandown Main Carnival to form up.
The procession is due to leave Culver Parade and Avenue Slipway at 9pm and will pass along the following route: High Street, Beachfield Road, Royal Crescent, Melville Street, Fitzroy Street, Station Avenue, Albert Road, Victoria Road finishing at approx 11.30pm at Culver Parade.
Traffic will be diverted as the procession proceeds. Road closures will be signposted.
