Members of staff from Hurst completed an Island-wide cycle challenge on Sunday.
This was the second year of the bike ride, with many Hurst colleagues, as well as friends and families, riding around the Island visiting each one of the ironmonger’s branches.
The route: A scenic tour of the Island
The cycle challenge started in Newport and visited Ryde, Shanklin, Ventnor, Freshwater, Cowes and through the hills of the Island.
A core group of seven completed the full 60 miles, with another eight riders joining them around the route at different branches.
Support on the road: Drinks, rest stops and cheers
A Hurst van supported the riders with drinks and rest stops along the way and FAT Samba greeted the weary cyclists when they arrived back to Newport, as well as many families and Home-start volunteers who the riders are raising money for.
This year’s ride not only strengthened the bonds among the employees of the chain, but also set a milestone in their efforts to support their community through charity, highlighting the spirit of camaraderie and social responsibility that’s thriving within Hurst.
