Star Wars Premiere comes to the Isle of Wight

Cowes based WightFibre, the Isle of Wight’s leading communications provider announces that after weeks of negotiation they will be hosting an Official Charity Premiere for Star Wars ‘The Force Awakens’ for youth charity UKSA, also based in Cowes.

The announcement follows weeks of discussion and negotiation by the WightFibre team which will see 190 specially invited guests attend the Charity Premiere taking place on Thursday, 17th December at Cineworld in Newport and marks the eighth film in the Star Wars franchise, which started back in 1977.

John Irvine, CEO of WightFibre comments:

“This is real coup. Being able to secure this charity premiere for the Island and to support such a great Island based charity as UKSA is really important to us.”

Charity auction
Prior to the screening, the event will start with a charity auction conducted by Rex Gully of HRD Fine Art Auctioneers to invited guests of six exclusive lots which includes a rare 35mm film cell, complete with certificate of authenticity from the original 1977 film ‘Star Wars IV; A New Hope’.
