Teenagers rescued by Cowes RNLI lifeboat off Norris Castle

Concern for the safety of two teenagers, cut-off by the tide off Norris Castle, East Cowes, led to the launching of Cowes RNLI lifeboat last night.

After launching at 6.46pm, the lifeboat was soon on the scene to take the teenagers, both 15, to Grid Iron at East Cowes – none the worse for their experience.

They were met on shore by coastguards from Bembridge and Ventnor.

The lifeboat returned to station at 7.30pm.
