Regular readers will know that we’re big fans of what’s been happening in Ventnor’s Alexandra Gardens over the past few years.
As well as the excellent Alexandra Gardens Website created and produced by John Allen and Ann and Paul Hutchins and the English Heritage Open Days, we delighted to hear that a book on the Victorian private road has now been produced.
The 30 page A4 book contains masses of interesting and informative history about the road that is home to eight grand Victorian villas.
As well as the general history of Alexandra Gardens and the old mill which was there beforehand, each of the eight properties is detailed with pictures, history and personal memories.
It’s makes for a fascinating read and at just £3 per copy (RRP), is a must for anyone interested in the history of Ventnor.
You can buy your copy from the Windsor Carlton Hotel, Venntor Rare Books (Pier St), Seasons (High St) and the Heritage Museum (Spring Hill).
Don’t forget to say where you heard about it!
