Regular customers of The Local in Ventnor may already be aware, but if you haven’t heard, the popular off-licence in Pier Street is due to close next month.
The closure, on 16th December, is a result of the Thresher Group going into administration last month. Staff told us yesterday afternoon that it’s possible the shop will close earlier than that date and many items have already stopped being restocked.
We were pretty surprised to hear that the store had not been snapped up, given a couple of years ago it was number 8 in the list of most popular off-licences in the group across the UK.
We wish the staff at the Ventnor shop the best of luck in finding alternative work, hopefully before Christmas.
