The Rockin ‘n’ Shakin Show: Cancelled

Unfortunately this show has had to be cancelled due to illness.

Regular readers of VB will remember the Rock ‘n’ Roll Revolution gig that took place at the Ventnor Winter Gardens last year.

The Rockin 'n' Shakin ShowIt was a sell out show and the audience went wild for the top notch lineup pulled together by Island promoter, Peter Stockton.

Well, Pete’s back again in Ventnor and has lined up another show at the Winter Gardens for Saturday 18th July. This one promises to be another smash hit.

If you’ve a fan rock ‘n’ roll or want to try something new, check out this gig. Jet Harris went along last year (original bass guitarist with Cliff and The Shadows) and said of the show,

“Completely knocked out with this show from start to finish. Very rare these days.”

The Rockin ‘n’ Shakin Show is a new, vibrant, concept show which focuses on the birth of Rock ‘n’ Roll in the UK as it follows through the explosive British dominance of The Merseysound era from 1962 to 1965.

The TTs
This is a comprehensive two hour show (excluding the encores), and the first half of the show stars the legendary rockers The TTS.

Peter tells us that Terry Clemson, the leader and founder of The TTS, has an enviable musical pedigree, gained from his lifetime on the road, backing such legends as Gene Vincent, Chuck Berry, and Bo Diddley, to name a few. Their compelling performance features hits by Eddie Cochran, Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley, Bill Haley, Cliff Richard, Dion and many other stars who influenced and shaped Rock ‘n’ Roll in the UK.

The Shakers
For the second half, Liverpool group The Shakers take to the stage.

These four young Liverpudlians have honed their skills at The Cavern Club, and without doubt, they are one of the most energetic, authentic and raw talents on the road today.

Their repertoire includes hits from The Searchers, Billy J Kramer and The Dakotas, The Merseybeats, Gerry and The Pacemakers, The Big Three, Farons Flamingoes, and of course, The Beatles – to name a few.

This show will take you back to those exhilarating days, when musicians actually played their instruments and sang, without any high tech backing tracks.

The show appeals to all age groups because, it truly represents the story of the evolution of Rock ‘n’ Roll in the UK – arguably, the most exciting and influential era that the artistic world has ever known.

Tickets are a mere £11 in advance or £12 on the night.
