ThWART Interview Thwarted?

ThWART: Unavailable for CommentIn pursuit of balance on the Cheverton Down wind turbine debate, we’ve been trying to get hold of ThWART (The Wight Against Rural Turbines) to record an interview with them.

We left three phone messages with them (starting near the beginning of February), one message left directly with a person and in addition we sent them email too.

After this we got a call back. The delay was understandable, they’re volunteers, as we at VentnorBlog are, and therefore time is given on a ‘when it’s available’ basis.

One of our writers, Wendy, who had done the interview with Kerri Trickey (founder Island Turbine Action Group), arranged to give up part of her Valentine’s weekend to record the interview.

Planned for the weekend
Having re-arranged her weekend, she waited the whole weekend for the call to finalise the time, but the call didn’t arrive, even after three further messages were left on the spokeperson’s mobile. We still haven’t had a call back.

The long and the short of it, we couldn’t have done more to give ThWART an equal opportunity to provide their side of the story, but despite us bending over backwards, they haven’t taken up the opportunity.

The offer is obviously still open, if they can commit to a time.
