On Thursday we popped over to the Spitbank Fort in the middle of the Solent to attend the rather-exclusive gig by two of The Charlatans, Tim Burgess and Mark Collins.
They played a number of the band’s songs as acoustic versions (have a listen below) to a selection of media and highly-appreciative winners of an Absolute Radio competition. (Big thanks to MyIsleOfWight for the invite!)
Chatting to guitarist Mark after the gig, he said many of the songs sounded quite radically different as they were normally keyboard-led.
Catching up three years on
VB was lucky enough to catch up with Tim to have a chat to him about what he’s been up to since we caught up with him post-Isle of Wight festival in 2009
He and the rest of The Charlatans are playing the Garden Stage at the Festival tonight at 11:15pm.
