You’ll be aware of many people picking unusual things to do to raise money for charity.
Island-born Graham Collins picked a forty eight hour Tweetathon. A what? Using his diaryofaledger Twitter account, Gray as he’s known to his friends, sent out Tweets for 48 hours straight. An amazing feat of endurance.
Over those 48 hours he Tweeted over 2,064 times, so far raising £1,240 for his chosen charity, BASICS Hampshire. Pretty amazing when his original target was £150.
Many people donated to his efforts in varying amounts, including TV ‘personality’ Jonathon Ross who gave £50.
The BASICS charity is a collection of 30 doctors and a nurse who volunteer their time to attend serious accidents. One of those accidents involved a friend of Gray last year, hence his desire to help the charity.
You can still donate money to this good cause and crazy event.
