World-renowned yacht designer, Ron Holland, will be paying a visit to Cowes based charity UKSA, at 6pm on the 14th May 2009, to give a talk to all with a consuming passion for sailing, marking the 35th anniversary of Ron Holland Design.

Ron has kindly donated his time to visit UKSA to talk about the fascinating world of yacht design and the inspiration that led to the creation of his latest custom yacht, the 190ft performance ketch, Ethereal.

Everyone Welcome
This event is open to everyone with an interest in yacht design and provides the opportunity to ask Ron those burning questions about legendary yachts such as the 246 ft Mirabella V.

Entry to the event is £10 with all proceeds from this event supporting UKSA’s work with young people, inspiring self-confidence, self reliance, and a vision for the future.

Background on Ron Holland
With 35 successful years in the yacht design business, and with a lifetime of sailing experience, Ron Holland Design is recognised by sailors around the world for exceptional innovation and achievement in yacht design – from outstandingly successful ocean racing yachts, to pioneering superyachts and state-of-the-art megayachts.

Ron Holland Design also recognises the increasing importance to owners, clients and the yachting community, of eco-consciousness in yacht design, build and operation; becoming experts in the mitigation of spiralling fuel costs, reduced impact of CO2 emissions and other pollutants, insurance against increasing environmental regulation and how these factors also directly benefit owners through better resale value.

UKSA is dedicated to changing lives through maritime training and experiences. Providing opportunities for all, UKSA is focused on maintaining and, if at all possible, increasing the real difference it is making to the lives of young people – and the positive impact that has on the wider community.
