Hundreds of people gathered on the seafront for the Venntor Boxing Day Swim 2007

Ventnor Boxing Day Swim 2021: Don’t forget your fancy dress

The annual Ventnor Boxing Day Swim returns on Sunday (26th), this year organised by Ventnor Carnival Association.

In past years, thousands of people have gathered to watch 100+ brave souls run into the sea for their post-Christmas dip.

It’s an activity that certainly helps brush away the cobwebs.

Take part or spectate
If you are planning to take part, gather on the beach from 11.30am (don’t forget your fancy dress) and the swim starts on the whistle at midday (tides permitting).

Spectators can assemble along the esplanade to cheer on the swimmers.

Volunteers will be collecting money for Ventnor Carnival and P.A.T.C.H. (the local cancer support charity).

Hang around
Stick around in town afterwards to have a drink in one of the local cafes, restaurants or pubs.
