Ventnor Womble Report

Thanks to Wendy for sending through details of her recent litter pick and talk. Ed

LitterOn Friday 25th March, Womble Wendy gave her first talk about Ventnor Wombles and Beach Cleaning to members of the Ventnor and District Local History Society.

Though she was a little nervous, the talk went well and it has given Womble Wendy the confidence to do further talks.

Womble Pistache was not permitted to attend the meeting, however, a large photo of her was shown.

If your organisation would like to know more about litter picking in the Ventnor area and beaches then given Womble Wendy a call on 855 947.

Monthly litter pick
Sunday 27th March and Ventnor Wombles litter picked The Landslip car park and surrounding area, opposite Nansen Hill, Bonchurch.

Three full bin bags of rubbish were collected and four glass bottles. Also collected were two tyres, one car wheel, barbed wire, a large piece of metal and a highway sign.

These items were left neatly by the rubbish bin, Womble Wendy with informing the IWC on the Monday morning. Thanks must go to regular Womble, Johnny Fitzgerald-Bond for his help. All this rubbish was collected in just one and a half hours.

Returning home, Womble Wendy stopped off at the view point car park, Leeson Rd and collected another bin bag of rubbish. At least this gateway into Ventnor looked better.

Next litter pick
The next Womble litter pick is on Sunday 24th April, details to follow.

Contact Womble Wendy on 855947 if you know of an area which needs litter picking.
