There are seven candidates, ranging in age from 12 to 17, with voting available on the council’s website until 10am on Monday 23 March.
The candidates are Evie Anderson, Ella Collins, Connor Dyer, Cameron Hudson, Oscar Pusey, Ewan Smith-Wainwright and Will Matthews.
As part of their election campaign, each candidate submitted a manifesto and also answered five questions set by the local Yoppul website, a site run by the Isle of Wight County Press specifically for young people.

To take part in voting, see each candidate, their manifestos and their answers, log on to iWight and follow the links.
Voting is limited to one per person, with the winner announced on the website on Tuesday 24 March. The candidate with the most votes will be elected, with the person receiving the second highest votes becoming the Isle of Wight’s Deputy Member of the UK Youth Parliament.
New youth council members
Meanwhile, all candidates standing for election to the Isle of Wight Youth Council have been elected.
Sixteen young people were successful following the nominations.
Tom Jackson (14), Oskar Mason (14) and Will Matthews (16) will represent Cowes and Lani Brown (14) and Connor Dyer (16) will represent Newport. Ryde will be represented by Evie Anderson (13), Isaac Broome (14) and Aaron Wilkins (17).
Cameron Hudon (16), James Loosemore (14), Reuben Lovell (16) and Oscar Pusey (15) will represent Sandown and Shanklin, with Ashton Helyer (17) representing Lake.
Finally Conrad Lewandowski (17) will represent West Wight, with Ella Collins (12) and Evan Wragg (16) representing Ventnor.
What is the Youth Council
The purpose of the Isle Youth Council is to work on behalf of young people of the Isle of Wight, in co-operation with the Isle of Wight Council, to increase young people’s influence over issues and decisions and to develop and deliver projects for the benefit of the Island’s youth.
