VentnorBlog understands that a shortlist of three bidders to take over the Ventnor Winter Gardens (background)has been selected by Isle of Wight council officers.
VB has learned the names of two of those passing through to the next round – the Winter Gardens Rescue Group and Klaus Kuhnke.
The fortunate ones were contacted yesterday to let them know they had passed through the council’s criteria, moving them on to the interview process, taking place on 14th April.
The panel will be made up of two people from Ventnor Town Council, Ventnor’s two county councillors – Susan Scoccia and Chris Welsford and some officers from IWC.
It’s thought that six organisations put proposals forward
- Winter Gardens Rescue Group
- Klaus Kuhnke
- An as-yet-identified bid, possibly from the Mainland.
- Anthony Churchill / Jamie Macaulay / Bunbury
- Graham Perks
- Robert Thompson
At lunch-time yesterday we asked Gavin Foster in the council press office for information as soon as it was available. We haven’t heard anything back from him as yet.
